Record / Replay, 1994, photocopy acrylic and oil pastel. Around 1994, myself, my brother Dan and my friend Loz Etheridge made some experiments into writing with the "cut up" method used by William S. Burroughs and Brion Gysin. This collage was inspired by the result of one of those experiments. The original text ran:

"Many old recordings replay to produce a host of emotions. The witness said she might have seen 'fuck the rich' on a piece of masonry. I was a web of conflicting emotions on scraps of cement. First sentence should be something like this: 'what is the meaning of the words on the wall?' Then you give the speeches and happenings to show this difference."
